Creating Together: Dance for Children with Disabilities

In 2006, the dance group developed and activated a unique program for children with special needs, in partnership with the Holon Regional Child Development Center. The children, between third and fifth grade, selected from the special needs classes at five Holon elementary schools, met on a weekly basis with Shira Rinot, a dancer of The Noa Dar Dance Group. The meetings concentrated on developing abilities of movement and expression, and creating a connection with others through movement. The children and their parents enthusiastically received the project, and a concluding performance mounted at the end of the year. The project will continue throughout the next year.
